Space Studies serves as a little musical memoir of my spiritual journey to understand myself as an artist. It started from an idea to change everything about how I normally write music - a different place, different process, different DAW, different collaborators, limited gear, and limited control.
I did everything in my power to get rid of the rigid process/workflow created from delivery requirements that I have as a film composer and really dig in to understand "what can I come up with without all this crazy stuff going on in my brain?"
This very thing has made me aware of what's "me" and what's "work". The whole process of writing and recording this EP became my identity therapy that has improved my life ever since.
I'm honestly so excited for this milestone in my life. Working as a film composer and record producer, I've had so much joy helping filmmakers, musicians, and artists create their art. THIS, however, is the first time to have something that's completely mine - something that came out from my heart and soul, from a place of honesty.
I hope everybody enjoys it as much as I did writing it.
Thank you again from the bottom of my heart to everybody who made this journey possible.
